history:
Here.

personality: Stiles is an incredibly energetic character and is just about constantly running his mouth. He has ADHD which he takes Adderall for, and can easily get carried away when he's speaking, going off on tangents of whatever suits his mood. He is described as being incredibly intelligent but also as having the inability to focus on anything long enough to get it done. However, despite this it is still suggested that Stiles receives good grades (an A paper in 1x4 "Magic Bullet") and he doesn't seem to let his extracurricular activities helping his best friend deal with the more elaborate problems that being a werewolf entails affect his school grades too negatively. He is viewed as a bit of a clown and an idiot, mostly tied into the fact that he doesn't seem to have that great of a filter, often spouting off whatever is on his mind, regardless of how ridiculous it seems to the people around him. He is all to aware and that he and Scott do not belong to the popular in-crowd though he doesn't let this stop him from speaking to people outside his "station" of nerddom.

When it comes to focus Stiles has demonstrated an incredible ability to come up with plans to help Scott time and time again, showing that he has a brain for strategy. He is also loyal to the point of putting himself in danger time and time again, proven with his complete awareness of how dangerous Scott can be before learning how to control his wolf side and instead of distancing himself from Scott, comes up with ways in which to help Scott learn to control himself. He also thinks fast in dangerous situations, as when he was nearly attacked by Scott while his best friend was in a werewolf rage, spraying him with a fire extinguisher to knock him out of it ("1x2 Second Chance at First Line").

Stiles is also very nosy, pushing his way into investigations his father is involved in. He has the PD codes memorized (knowing of the murder in 1x5 "The Tell"). He shows interest in his father's line of work initially because he clearly liked the challenge of solving the problem but as the cases begin to involve werewolf/hunter antics more and more, drawing Scott and himself more deeply into it, his manipulates and begs his way into learning more about cases because of his personal investment in them. He is also very perceptive, knowing Lydia's dumb girl act is a front and calling her out on it (1x11 "Formality").

When he was younger he experienced panic attacks shortly after his mother died and knows the importance of distracting oneself in high anxiety situations, which also possibly contributes to his ability to stay calm in tense situations. He also carries a deeply buried guilt that it was his fault that his mother died, and that his father, whom he loves deeply and constantly worries for, would be better off and happier if Stiles was out of the picture (2x9 "Party Guessed").

His loyalties are without a doubt with Scott, though he has gotten hurt and frustrated by the way Scott continually puts Allison first and sometimes refuses to see the bigger picture. Despite this he has never abandoned Scott and he is incredibly brave, putting himself between Lydia and the Alpha werewolf, Peter Hale, in order to try and protect her from being killed by him (1x11 "Formality"). He is incredibly self-sacrificing and truly does all that he can to help not only Scott, who is his best friend, but Derek too, whom he shares a more antagonistic relationship with, and Lydia, whom he has had a crush on since the 3rd grade. He tolerates Scott's and Allison's relationship with all the long-suffering good nature of a best friend who is sick of being the third wheel but won't seriously complain about it because he knows it makes Scott happy.

abilities/powers: Stiles is a normal human being, with all the physical powers that would pertain to a 16 year old, slightly awkward teenage boy who plays Lacrosse. He is fit, though that probably has more to do with the amount of time he spends running for his life from werewolves, hunters, and creepy lizard things, than it does from actually being on the Lacrosse team. He has not demonstrated any skill with traditional weapons, though with his father being the Sheriff it can probably be assumed he has a working knowledge of how to shoot a gun.

first person sample: So it's been a few days now, I've been patient, and I've gotta say, I still have some questions I've been itching for the answers to and someone out there has gotta know! I've even numbered them so that make them simple, easily understandable and answerable and everything!

[He holds up his hand, counting off each question on his fingers.]

One! Where, exactly, am I?

Two! Why am I here?

Three! What is the meaning of li--no seriously!

[His expression becomes notably less tolerant, brows knit, features tense.]

Someone please tell me where the hell I am! I'm supposed to be at school in 20 minutes and yeah, I know, usually any excuse to get out of a day stuck in the daily grind is something I'd leap at but not when I've clearly been kidnapped and had the distinct displeasure of waking up with some creepy as hell toe tag on my foot. Thanks for that, by the way. Nothing like the nightmare fuel of waking up in a morgue to really get the day started.

How is this my life? How is this real? Uuuugh, oh my gawd, I'm living in the twilight zone.

[EDIT: I am including an additional 1st person sample below because looking at this a few days later, and then looking at the requests in the application layout, I realize the first example is perhaps a little too close to the 'waking up in the morgue panic'.  Hopefully this will unquestionably satisfy the 1st person section requirement. :| ]

So the more I think about it the more I'm afraid of just how out of our depth we are.  I mean at first, yeah, it was weird; exciting in that 'holy shit, I'm gonna get eaten by my best friend, he's gonna kill someone, werewolves are real' sort of way but let me tell you, that gets old fast.

Really fast.  Speed of light fast.  'I'm probably gonna die horribly if I don't think of something really awesomely brilliant' fast.  And instead of being smart about this and heading back to shore as quickly as we possibly can it's like we're all just wading out deeper, getting more and more out of our depth.  Although it's not so much us swimming into the deep end of the pool as it is something pulling us into deeper water, like some big scary tentacle of bad intentions and I'm just going to stop that disturbing analogy right there before it gets completely out of control.

But I guess the point is that pretty soon we're gonna be in real trouble.  Like, 'this is it' trouble.  And I really wanna avoid the 'this is it' kind of trouble and go back to the 'oh, shit, I didn't do my chemistry homework again' trouble.

Too much to ask?

[Heavy sigh.]

Yeah, I thought so too.

third person sample: Stiles was totally cool. He was the definition of the word, in fact, like a cucumber, like a Fall breeze, like Derek's freaking leather jacket. And actually that's kind of like, three definitions, isn't it, but whatever, Stiles can't be bothered to worry about semantics right now. What he can be bothered to worry about is his situation, as it is right now, in this particular place and time, both of which are questions that he still hasn't got the answers too.

And while he's asking where and when and getting nowhere he can also tack on who, what and why, just to completely accept how hugely ignorant he is right now about this entire situation.

Where was Scott? Where was Lydia? Was she okay? Where was his dad? He can pretty much safely assume this isn't Beacon Hills because he'd grown up in that town and this whole place definitely wasn't ringing any bells of sweet familiarity. Instead it was just exuding massive creep feels, he could feel them shivering up his spine and tickling his neck and that just wasn't cool at all. That had the potential to make him lose his cool and all Stiles had going for him right now was his cool. Flaunt what you got, his dad never said, so Stiles was going to do just that.

"Hey! Anybody? Hello? Creatures of the night? Serial killers lurking in the dark? Batman?"

Stiles breathed out a gusty sigh when absolutely nothing made their reply. That was good, that was just great. So he was alone, or at least still being scoped out and not worth approaching yet and man, wasn't that not worth thinking too much about and it would be really awesome if he could just wake up from whatever nightmare this was. Anytime now. Preferably sooner than later.

He wasn't gonna hold his breath.

case no: Randomized is A-OK.
